Quiet Day

Today has been a quiet day. I have worked on chores for most of the day. I am taking a break to hold Mr. Graysen for a while. He is a very social baby and loves to be held and talked to. Lee came home for lunch, which was a nice treat for Caleb and I. He brought home sushi for us, so it was a very good lunch. Caleb had cheese, crackers, milk, and Hot Wheel fruit snacks since he appears to be a vegetarian. It is a rare occasion when we can get him to eat any meat.

Grumpy Graysen Isn't As Grumpy Anymore

We had a very relaxing weekend. Graysen has been in a good mood lately. He smiles a lot. Caleb spent all of today playing with cars, of course. I am such a sucker for Matchbox cars. I think that I like them just as much as Caleb. (Well, no one likes cars as much as Caleb. I like Matchbox because they are miniature versions of real models. I do not like Hot Wheels.) Thankfully Matchbox cars are only $0.97 each since we seem to pick up one every time that we are out. However, Caleb and I did not buy one when we went to Wal-Mart today. He received 5 yesterday, so I figured that was enough for the weekend. We have looked on Matchbox's website and unfortunately they do not make a Sienna mini van. Maybe next year.

Photo Shoot

Caleb was in the mood for a photo shoot last night. He brought the camera to Lee and asked him to take pictures. These are a few of the pictures that Lee took.

Play Date with Emily

Here are some pictures from our visit to Emily's house today. Both of the kids had fun, as always. Graysen slept for most of the visit. It was a nice afternoon.

Pediatric Cardiologist Visit

Graysen is tired after a morning at the pediatric cardiologist. It was an in depth visit. They did an echocardiogram on Graysen and the doctor did an exam. Graysen looks great. The only concern (on going) is his lungs. His blood oxygen level was 95%. This is too high. A normal person's BOL is 100%, but since Graysen is a "mixer," his level is expected to be around 82.5%. A reading of 82.5% for Graysen would mean that half of his blood goes to his lungs and the other half goes to the body. Since Graysen's level is so high, it means that double the amount of blood goes to the lungs than goes to the body. This is flooding his lungs. The doctor is concerned, but there is nothing that can be done until his next surgery. We go back to the doctor next week for another round of chest x-rays and a visit with the cardiologist. The doctor is debating putting Graysen back on lasixs to reduce the amount of fluid in his body. He will make the determination next week after looking at the chest x-ray which will tell him more about the condition of Graysen's lungs.

Both Lee and I feel very blessed that Graysen is doing so well. He is definitely a tough little baby and very strong.

Rx: More Tummy Time

Graysen had his two month well visit today with the pediatrician. He is doing great! He weighs 11.5 pounds and is in the 35% percentile. The pediatrician thought that his foot looked fine and did not need any more work. Her only concern was his neck. He favors one side and is developing a flat spot on one side of his head. We went through this with Caleb. It is very common since babies sleep on their back. She said that he needed to do more tummy time. Caleb hated tummy time. We bought Tummy Time Whale (pictured above) for Caleb hoping that it would help. It did not. He screamed every time that we put him on his tummy. Graysen is more cooperative and will be receiving tummy time at least three times a day. His next appointment is with the pediatric cardiologist on Thursday to check on his heart.

Little Artist

Caleb has some of his daddy's artistic skills. He is working on his fourth masterpiece to show daddy when he gets home. Caleb has been very good about coloring today. He stays at his desk and works very seriously on his drawings.

Graysen is doing better. He is sleeping now. He isn't as fussy today. I am attributing the weekend's fussiness to the vaccines that he received last Thursday. He is much calmer today and is back to eating.
