Little Artist

Caleb has some of his daddy's artistic skills. He is working on his fourth masterpiece to show daddy when he gets home. Caleb has been very good about coloring today. He stays at his desk and works very seriously on his drawings.

Graysen is doing better. He is sleeping now. He isn't as fussy today. I am attributing the weekend's fussiness to the vaccines that he received last Thursday. He is much calmer today and is back to eating.

Graysen's First Bath

All clean!

Graysen received his first real bath today. Previously, Graysen could only have sponge baths. His skin and belly button have healed, so he can now be submerged.

He was very good during the bath. He did not pee in the bath, so I count it as a success. Caleb enjoyed taking a bath with his brother, but, as always, cars and trucks had to come also.

Graysen is now sleeping, which is nice. Lee and I have had a rough 24 hours with him. He became fussy starting at 1:30 AM and would not eat. I became worried that he had an ear infection, so I took him to the doctor this morning. The doctor could not find anything wrong. The official diagnosis code submitted to insurance was "fussy infant." I guess it is now official that Graysen is indeed Grumpy Graysen.

Graysen has a pediatrician appointment on Tuesday and a pediatric cardiologist appointment on Thursday. Hopefully they will be able to help Graysen feel better. In the meantime, I think that I have another long night ahead of me...

Cars

We finally know what goes through Caleb's mind when he plays with his cars and trucks.

Tennis

The four of us went to watch Chad's high school tennis match yesterday evening. Caleb had a blast. He loved playing tennis with Chad. He understood the concept, but just needs more practice before he can play with the pros. It was nice to be outside and spend time with the Taylors. Chad played great!

Graysen is two months old!

Graysen is two months old today! We are very blessed that he is doing so well. You cannot tell the difference between him and a normal baby. He is doing great!

Favorite Animals

Katelin is spending the day with us. Both her and Caleb carried around their favorite animals today. Katelin's favorite animal is a bear that she brought from home. Caleb's favorite is Geoffrey the giraffe. Graysen was asleep while I was taking pictures, so he did not get his picture taken with Froggy. Today will be a quiet day at home.

Emily Comes To Play

Emily and Lisa came over to play today. Emily thought that Caleb had the coolest potty. She loved it. This made Caleb interested in it and both of them sat on potties today (big and small ones). As a reward, both were given cupcakes. So, maybe we will make progress on potty training soon. Caleb is not as scared now that Emily has shown him that it can be fun.

Happy Easter!

Here are pictures of Graysen and Caleb from this morning. Caleb is very excited about his new car, truck, and the coolest vehicle, the Ford full size service van. He also received a Matchbox plane, but it has been rejected as not interesting. Graysen received a little puppy stuffed toy. Caleb also looked for eggs filled with jelly beans this morning. He did great once he got the hang of it.

Easter Egg Hunt

Caleb and Emily went to an Easter egg hunt this morning in Gastonia. Caleb was an expert egg hunter. He ran and collected over ten eggs! (It helped that the hunt was divided into age groups.) Caleb and Emily had a good time.

Caleb loves to clean!

I was cleaning the bathtub today, and I looked behind me, and Caleb was cleaning the "potty." He then proceeded to clean his potty. Then, he realized that he couldn't reach the mirror, ran and got a stool, and cleaned the mirror. This was all without my instruction and without me asking. He loves to clean. He cleans perfectly. He knows where everything goes and lines up everything parallel, just how I like things. It was so cute!

A Rare Smile

Grumpy Graysen rarely smiles, but I was able to catch one this morning. He enjoyed watching Caleb and Katelin play with Easter eggs.

Egg Hunt Practice

Katelin's mom brought over plastic eggs for the kids to play with this morning. They loved the eggs. Caleb is now ready for his big Easter egg hunt on Saturday.

Everybody is Sleeping!

All three kids are taking their naps right now. I am enjoying the few minutes of quiet that I have. Thankfully Mr. Graysen is asleep. He has been a fussy monster the past few days. He is definitely not as laid back as Caleb is. These are a few pictures of Caleb and Katelin playing this morning with stuffed animals. Caleb loves all of his stuffed animals. They are his buddies at night and during the day. Geoffry (a giraffe) is his best friend, and currently the Easter Bunny (blue, not to be mixed up with Pooh Bunny) is his other favorite. I think that is because we have been talking a lot about Easter and he always goes and gets his bunny. Speaking of Easter, I heard through the grapevine that the Easter Bunny may have put some cars in Caleb's basket...

Caleb and Katelin Discuss Books

Today was a normal play day. Caleb and Katelin were interested in books. They both play together very nicely. Caleb enjoys spending time with other children. Mr. Graysen took a nap through it all.

The Park

We took Caleb to the park today. He had a lot of fun playing on the equipment and going down the slide. The picture below is from lunch. Lee made a pizza, and, as you can see, Caleb was eager to eat. This brings back memories of a particular lasagna dinner...

Relaxing Saturday

It has been a very relaxing Saturday. Lee was nice and made dinner this evening. While he was at the grocery store, he bought flowers for me and a car and truck for Caleb. Caleb has been playing with his new car (Dodge Viper, his favorite) and his new truck (Waste Management, Lee's favorite) all day. Mr. Graysen was allowed to sit up on the couch for the first time today. He got to enjoy looking at the world from a different perspective.

Caleb Visits the Taylors

Caleb spent the afternoon at the Taylors. This is a picture that Kim took of him. He had a blast. He ran outside with the dog and got to play with different trucks. He did not want to leave. He hid behind a play house and threw a fit when I put him in the car. He calmed down enough to give him pal, Aunt Kim, a good-bye "knuckles."

Emily Comes to Visit

Emily came over to play today. Here is a picture of Emily giving Caleb a kiss. Everyone had a lot of fun. All three little ones played very nicely together. Graysen was worn out from last night, so he slept most of the time. (He decided that it was playtime from 3 AM to 5 AM this morning. So, he missed out on the fun.)

Three Cuties

Today was a pretty standard day. All three babies played very nicely together. Caleb is a great big brother and loves to take care of both Katelin and Graysen. He likes to give Katelin stuffed animals and he likes to rock Graysen's chair.

Katelin

My friend is consulting for a company for three to six weeks. So, her daughter, Katelin, is staying with us during the day. Caleb loves to play with Katelin and likes having another "hans" around. ("Hans" is what Caleb calls Graysen, and now Katelin. I think that both names are too difficult for him to pronounce.) Having Katelin around actually makes taking care of Caleb easier. He wants to do everything that Katelin does, including eat lunch instead of playing with trucks and going down for "night night." He actually put himself to bed this afternoon after Katelin went down for a nap. I have all three down for naps right now!

Easter Eggs

Caleb colored Easter eggs today. He helped with every part of the process from mixing the dyes to put the final stickers on the eggs. He was very disappointed when he tasted one of the eggs. I think that he was hoping for a flavor similar to "belly beans."
