Caleb's 4K Graduation

Caleb graduated from Anderson Mill's 4K program last Friday. Wow! What a special day it was!

Caleb was surprised to receive a graduation gift from Mommy and Daddy. It is a floor puzzle of "THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!!!" Caleb is currently obsessed with "THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," not to be shortened to U.S., United States, etc... I can't wait to take him to DC this summer and stay near the capital with him!
Caleb starred in a sweet performance about the weather.
Here he is receiving his diploma.
These are his Anderson Mill 4K teachers.
That evening, my friend Karen threw a really sweet graduation dinner for the boys and to honor his 4K CDC teacher, Ms. Carol.

Here Caleb is with his best friend, Matthew.
Here are the boys are with their CDC 4K teachers. Ms. Carol is in the middle and has been an amazing teacher to Caleb the past two years.
I am so thankful for both his Anderson Mill and CDC 4K teachers. They are wonderful and have made this a very special year for Caleb!

Lemonade Stand

The boys and I will be helping a friend with her lemonade standing this coming Saturday. The proceeds from the lemonade sale will go to Palmetto Hearts.

Chick-fil-A will be donating the lemonade, so I encourage everyone to come on out and have a yummy glass of lemonade to support precious heart children.

See her blog for more information:

Feel free to send me an email if you need directions to her house.

Palmetto Hearts 5K

I am happy to share that I have been asked to chair an organizational committee for planning a 5K run and walk next spring/summer to benefit Palmetto Hearts.

Palmetto Hearts is the congenital heart disease organization for the state of South Carolina. They are a non-profit group and generously help families that are dealing with CHD.

The committee has already started meeting and planning the event. Our next meeting is on June 28th and I plan to post details from each meeting so that everyone will know what fun activities we will have at the event and so that everyone can start planning to come out and support heart families!

The first order of business is to select a catchy name for the event. For example, "Melt Your Heart 5K Walk & Run." Since I am not creative, the committee and I have decided to have a small contest to get clever ideas. We would like for everyone to suggest a name for the event by either posting a comment or sending a private email to me. We will select the name at the meeting on June 28th and the winner will receive a free t shirt from the event with the winning event name on it.

I need everyone's help and hope to get a lot of great submissions!

Oh No! There's Been an Accident!

I went to see what the boys were doing when I kept hearing loud sirens and them yelling, "Oh no! There's been an accident." I came across two accident scenes and was so impressed with the accuracy of the scene that I had to share it with you. Both scenes are complete with traffic jam, turned over vehicles, and the proper emergency response teams.

Kiddie Pool Fun

After many years of resisting, I finally bought the boys a kiddie pool. We set it up on Saturday and everyone had a great time enjoying being out in the sun.

Civitan 5K

Saturday I ran my first 5K of the season. I am really out of practice, so I will not be posting my time. I only run 5K's to keep an active lifestyle and all that matters to me is to keep getting better. My next one is in June and I am looking forward to making progress.

Special Guests

Uncle Bob and Aunt Dolores came to visit yesterday. We had a splendid evening with them relaxing outside and celebrating Aunt Dolores' birthday. Here are a few pictures from the evening:

The boys (and Lee) playing with their new remote-controlled car.
Each boy picked out a decorated a special card for Aunt Dolores.
Even Baby Iron Man was present at the party!
The boys loved spending time with Uncle Bob.
