Greenville Children's Museum

Yesterday, I took the boys to the Greenville Children's Museum.  I try to make it there at least once a summer.  The boys love playing there.  Here are a few pictures from the day.
Caleb is highly concerned about his bill at the grocery store.  I can't blame him.  The checkout worker has a habit of double scanning items.

The Slusher boy construction crew is hard at work.
I have to say that I give Caleb the title of foreman, only for the simple fact that he is capable of putting on a safety vest correctly.  Graysen managed to get both shoulders through one arm hole and wore his vest like this the entire time.  I am not sure he even notice it was on incorrectly.

Caleb loved being a meteorologist.  He jabbered the entire way home about his weather report and this activity made a big impact on him.  They do a great job of giving the kids a script, filming the segment, and then letting the kids watch the playback in a control room.

It was a really fun day and the boys had a blast!

Graysen's Heart

Graysen's saw the pediatric cardiologist today and his heart looks absolutely wonderful!!!  He is exceeding all expectations for the lifespan of his last surgery and is not expected to have another surgery for at least two years.  Wonderful news!!!

Frankie's Fun Park

This past weekend, Lee and I took the boys to Frankie's Fun Park.  None of us had been there before, but the boys are finally old enough for the activities.  They both fell in love with the place instantly.

They rode go-carts for the first time in their life and thought it was the most awesome thing ever.

They got to play mini-golf which is one of their favorite activities.

We had lunch at the on-site Johnny Rockets.

We finished the day with a trip to the arcade.
It was a really fun day and a great way to spend Father's Day weekend.

Hollywild

Yesterday, the boys and I went to Hollywild Animal Park.  Hollywild's claim to fame is they are an animal service for TV commercials.  Apparently their animals are top stars for commercials like Land Rover and Zi-Cam anti-rhinovirus medicine.
The best part of the visit was the animal safari. You ride on a school bus that has all of the windows remove and get to feed animals on safari.
The buffalo were the most friendly. They come up to the window and open their mouths so you can drop in bagels and hamburger buns.

 There were tons of animals!
Here is a picture of the safari buses.
You can also feed animals at the main part of the park.  The boys were so cute feeding bottles to baby goats.
Graysen's two favorite animals on Earth are sea turtles and zebras.  He was so happy to see a zebra.  (Our zoo doesn't have any.)  He even got to feed the zebra!
It was a really fun day.  Hollywild is a little tacky and old-school, but the boys really enjoyed it and I thought it was a great value for the low admission price.

Summer Activities

Every day, the boys and I do an activity or go on an adventure.  Yesterday's activity was a nature walk and picnic at Hatcher Gardens.  Today, the boys and I are headed to Barnes and Noble to pick up a few books for summer reading and a treat at the cafe.  I am really enjoying spending time with my two little buddies this summer.  They are both at such a fun age!

Jellystone

To kick off the summer, Lee, the boys, my mom, and I went camping at Yogi Bear Jellystone Park in Marion, NC.  It is not the most rustic camping, but it is great for kids.  Here are a few pictures from our weekend.

The boys getting ready to wake up Boo Boo Bear.  All of the kids in the campground march around the camp banging drums and shaking tambourines as they try to find Boo Boo.

The boys enjoyed fishing.

After fishing, we all took a little boat ride.

The boys made spin art frisbees.

The day ended with the traditional barn dance.  Graysen has some moves!
