Potty Training... Take III

Today was the first day of our third, and hopefully last, attempt to potty train Caleb. I am happy to report that it was a good and productive day. Caleb had a wonderful attitude towards it all day. He did not fuss one time about wearing big boy underwear. He even wore them to Target and didn't have any major accidents all day long. (He will not go to the potty by himself, but he will sit on it until he goes pee pee. So, I just ask him to sit on it frequently throughout the day.)

Every time that he went pee pee in the potty, he received a sticker to go on his Chuck E. Cheese reward chart and three jelly beans. He earned eight stickers today. So, we all went to Chuck E. Cheese when Daddy got home. Since he did SO well today, we got to go to Toy's R Us afterward and he received two Matchbox playsets. (Toy's R Us is a very special treat for him. We do not go very often.)

Since we cannot go to Chuck E. Cheese and Toy's R Us everyday, I made a daily reward chart for him. He will receive a new car every time that he earns ten stickers. I estimate that will be one car per day for him. Lee is going to pick up 20 cars tomorrow, so I will reward him this way until we run out. Hopefully, we can go down to just jelly beans after 20 days.

Good luck! We are proud of Caleb's progress. How many times will you have to stop on the way to Tennessee? Looking forward to see you guys.

Yeah Caleb!!! ALOT of prizes and m&ms worked for Emily. You will have to plan for extra stops during travel now. I am glad things are going well!

We need to print out the picture of Caleb on the potty with the smile on his face as I'm sure we were all wondering if we would ever, ever see that day. Sitting on the potty, yeah but with a smile??? Now THAT'S a major accomplishment to both Caleb and YOU!

YEAH for Caleb! Poor Lee is eating crackers and drinking water for breakfast and lunch while Caleb is getting 20 matchbox cars a day. WOW!

Essence does not understand prizes just "sit on the pot". When do they comprehend prizes? HMM!

Keep up the consistency Laura!
