Playdate at McDonald's

(I didn't get any good pictures of Caleb today.)

Today we met Lisa and Emily at the Blacksburg McDonald's for lunch. All of the kids had a great time, but Graysen had a blast. It was the first time that I let him go on the play equipment. Within one minute (literally) he had climbed to the second level of the playground and would have gone higher if there wasn't a tall barrier on that level. (Caleb took over a year to make it past the first two steps and still will not go past the second level.) Graysen also had a fun time going up and down the slide on his own. He is fearless.

Graysen's Baptism

We invite friends and family to celebrate the joy of Graysen's baptism with us. The baptism will take place on Sunday, June 14th at 8:30 AM at Holy Communion Lutheran Church in Spartanburg. All are welcome. Afterwards, we invite everyone to come to our house for coffee and refreshments. Feel free to email Lee or myself if you need directions.

OT (Occupational Therapy)

Graysen's OT planned an outdoor session for today. Both boys loved being outdoors and the activities centered around sensory integration, scooping, and pre-writing skills. Graysen was not interested in writing with chalk. He made his usual three lines and then was off to explore the great outdoors. When the therapist asked him to do more, he looked at her and signed and said "all done." He will use that word a lot when he is done eating and wants down from the table, but I have never heard him tell it to someone else.

Graysen is doing great. He is doing so well that at his last review the frequency of visits was decreased to every other week instead of once a week. I think that he will be down to once a month soon.

Morning with Daddy

Lee got out one of his favorite things, his camera, and took some pictures of the boys. Caleb got out his camera and took pictures of his favorite thing, Geoffrey. It may be time to get Caleb a real camera.

Busy Weekend

We had a busy weekend. On Thursday, we saw Old Crow Medicine Show at Spartanburg's auditorium. It was a great show and we had a lot of fun. We had front row seats. Tickets went on sale a few months ago at 10 AM. I was able to order them at 10:01 AM. It was fascinating being up close to the band.

Then, we left for Tennessee Friday morning. We had a nice visit with family, but the drive to Tennessee was very long. It should have taken 6 hours, but ended up taking 8 1/2 hours. We spent 45 minutes in the bathrooms at a rest area because there was a tornado warning as we went through Crossville. The tornado ended up touching down 3 miles away, so it was good that we got off the road.

The rest of the delay was mainly due to potty stops and "false alarm" potty stops. Caleb takes potty training very seriously and is doing great! However, sometimes he freaks out when he is a at a public restroom. The way home was much better and he has now decided that it is OK to use public restrooms.

Easter Party at Emily's House

Today we went to Emily's house for an Easter party. (This has been a very fun week full of Easter events!) The party was a lot of fun. The kids played, colored eggs, and exchanged Easter goodies.

We are leaving for Tennessee tomorrow to spend Easter weekend with Lee's family. I will blog when we return.

Easter Party at Katelin's House

We went to Katelin's house on Tuesday for an Easter party. It was a lot of fun. The kids colored eggs, played, and did an egg hunt. Alisha made a "Guess the Number of Jelly Beans" game. Each child wrote their guess on a piece of paper. (There were 164 jelly beans in the jar.) Katelin guessed 4, Carson guessed 5, and Caleb guessed 10. Caleb won and got to take home the entire jar of jellybeans!

Graysen's First Easter Egg Hunt

We spent Sunday in Gastonia with Lisa and Emily where Graysen got to go to his first egg hunt. The egg hunt was held at the Gaston County Museum. All of the kids had a good time, but I think that Graysen enjoyed it the most. He loved being in the grass and was more interested in collecting sticks than collecting eggs.

Fun Day

Caleb and I had a fun day today. First, we went to Spartanburg's Egg Scramble. Then, we went to Playhouse Disney Live. It was nice to spend a few hours with just Caleb. He loved the egg hunt and seeing Micky Mouse.
