Ready To Wrap
Caleb brought home his first fundraising packet from school. It is filled with all kinds of things that I love, especially wrapping paper. I asked Lee how much I could spend and he made the mistake of saying, "Technically it is charity, so whatever you feel appropriate." Hmmm.... Wrapping is my passion. So, I picked out about $100 of wrapping paper, you know, to help support the school.
Since I will be getting a shipment of wrapping paper, I decided that I needed to get in gear and finish my wrapping station. I went to Target today and the station is finished and ready for more fun supplies!!!

First Day of Soccer
Today was Caleb's first day of soccer. The first half is spent doing drills with their coaches. The team has been divided into four sub-teams of four kids each. There is one main coach who coordinates everything and four assistant coaches, each with their own team. The second half is a mini-game where the teams play each other jamboree style.
Caleb did amazing!!! Lee and I are very proud of him. He loved playing soccer and did great participating with the other kids. He even kicked the ball during the game portion! He really enjoyed the day.
Coach Lee in action! He has a sweet team of four adorable little boys. It is so fun watching all of them.
We watched some of the World Cup a few months back. Caleb thinks that falling down is part of the game from watching soccer on TV. Today, he would spontaneously fall down on the field and pretend that he was in the World Cup. He did this several times and was the only child to be randomly rolling around on the ground. Not our proudest moment, but it was pretty funny to watch.
After the game, the boys got coupons for free hot dog lunches. The boys thoroughly enjoyed their lunch.
Technically, today was the "jamboree" which was an introductory game and when uniforms were passed out. The regular season starts next week and Caleb is very excited that he will get to wear his uniform then. It is proudly hanging in his closet.

In all, Caleb shows more soccer potential than his daddy who was known for picking dandelions on the field when he played as a child.

Football Men
Caleb, Graysen, and Geoffrey got out their football helmets this weekend, apparently excited about the upcoming football season. The word "players" hasn't really worked its way into the boys vocabularies yet, so they call themselves "football men."

Soccer Time!
Caleb is on a soccer team this fall. Tonight was the first meeting and he is THRILLED about it. He is on AYSO Region 132 U04 Boys Dinomite team. Lee is an assistant coach and I am the official "Team Parent," which means that I organize all of the snacks and miscellaneous things. I am pretty sure that I got this job because when asked if I would be an assistant coach I replied, "I love snacks."
The director brought a blue AYSO soccer ball as an example for what each kid will receive in a few weeks. When he showed it to the parents, Graysen yelled, "BALL!" The director gave it to him and allowed him to take it home with him. Other kids asked the director for one, but he only had one. This doesn't reinforce my point to Graysen that he is not on the team. Graysen thinks that he is on the team too and is ready to play...
In case you are interested in coming to one of Caleb's games, they are every Saturday from August 28th through October 30th at 9 AM at The Old Canaan Road AYSO Soccer Complex Field D.
