Meeting Santa Claus

Lee and I have not done too much with Santa over the years, ever since the boys decided that he was scary back in 2008. This year is different.

Both boys have become fascinated with Santa, especially Graysen. They do everything that they are told, cheerfully go to Advent services, and are complete angels with the fear that they do NOT want to end up on the "Naughty" list. Graysen has shown concern to me that our house does not have a chimney. Thankfully, Papa's house has one and this has eased his concerns about how Santa will get into the house.

After dinner on Saturday night, we spontaneously decided to take the boys to the mall to see if Santa has come to visit and take requests from little boys and girls. He was there! Both boys were excited to see him and tell him what they wanted for Christmas. Graysen said action figures and Caleb said cars. Lee and I are pretty sure that Caleb spent the 15 minutes in line stressing about how to use this one opportunity to get the perfect gift just like Ralph in "A Christmas Story." In the end we think that he went with the safe route and just said Matchbox cars.
