Today was filled with two fun fall activities. First, we went to Lewis Farm in Gastonia with Lisa and Emily. The kids had a great time feeding animals, going on a hay ride, and doing a corn maze. Emily and Caleb even rode a horse for the first time in their life.
This evening, we went to the Taylors' church for their "Trunk-or-Treat" event. Caleb dressed up as Spider-man, and Graysen was an University of Florida football player. Caleb enjoyed playing games and collecting candy.

Caleb looks so confident on that horse. I would have thought he would be scared to death. He is so brave. Love the pictures. All my love, Grandma
Graysen's outfit makes me think that is what Tim Tebow would look like if he played Jason in a remake of Friday the 13th. Kids look cute.
I also wonder what Graysen and Caleb will do once Halloween is over. Halloween in SC seems to consist of two months of Halloween related festivities. I guess the Christmas Tree will go up on November 1st and they will move on to the next holiday.
It appears as if Erik and Amanda have begun to understand the TRUE and ONLY meaning of the existence of a Meyer. Which is to find as many excuses (i.e. holidays aka Big 3) to eat candy, make crafts, and/or otherwise live in a alternate reality where fantasy becomes true life. A toast to Erik and Amanda!
Reminds me of a Seinfeld episode: "festivus for the rest of us"! The next thing you know the Slusher Family of SC (not to confuse them with the Slushers of TN) will start developing their own holidays.
Frank Costanza: Many Christmases ago, I went to buy a doll for my son. I reached for the last one they had, but so did another man. As I rained blows upon him, I realized there had to be another way.
Cosmo Kramer: What happened to the doll?
Frank Costanza: It was destroyed. But out of that a new holiday was born: a Festivus for the rest of us![5]
Amazing! Just think how privileged we are all to know real life Costanzas.
